On 13th March, BID produced a briefing for MPs on the public bill committee considering the Criminal Justice and Courts Bill.
The briefing sets out BID's grave concerns that the Bill would place serious restrictions on immigration detainees’ access to judicial review. Judicial review is a crucial safeguard, and we set out examples of cases in which the courts have found that detainees including children have been held unlawfully.
