Why run for BID?
BID is a small, independent charity which is funded entirely by voluntary donations. The money you will raise will directly go into our advice work, helping us to keep the lights on, the phone lines open, and to train our incredible team of volunteers. In previous years we raised over £7,000 and we’re hoping to beat that record!

Father and son duo Mayer and Normal running in 2021. They raised an incredible £3,152 between them. Mayer said he chose to run for BID as "a way of showing support and solidarity with those bearing the brunt of this government's policies.”
Rafaela ran for BID in 2021. When we asked her why she said:
“I think BID's work - from helping people who are detained to campaigning for an end to immigration detention - is incredible and deserves all the support. I also thought it was important to raise awareness about how awful the system is to people who are so often vulnerable and I really hope I was able to bring some attention to it with my fundraising.”
Finishers Tabitha and Milly were beaming at the finish line. Tabitha really encourages others to take part:
“If you’re thinking about taking part do it – this was my first half marathon and although I was terrified before I am now 99% sure I would do another! BID is such a wonderful charity, for an amazing cause and I would be honoured to be able to take part and support”
